DMC/MixMag Founder DJ Tony Prince to Auction Historic Memorabilia Including The Beatles Promo Copy of "LOVE ME DO" signed by Paul McCartney Across the Misspelling of his Name!

THE TONY PRINCE COLLECTION His three car garage became a museum, a record library containing 100,000 records, thousands of collectible vinyl originals which Tony Prince has collected in a career which goes back to the pirate radio DJs, Radio Luxembourg, DMC/Mixmag and now United DJ Radio (uniteddj.com). The Royal Ruler’s museum is finally leaving home with the first OMEGA auction taking place on January 28th. The first auction features some amazing personal items, historic memorabilia including probably the most important record in the entire world, the Beatles promotional copy of LOVE ME DO signed by Paul across the misspelling of his name, something EMI will still blush about. The record was part of the Radio Luxembourg library in the Grand Duchy. When Tony became Program Director it was decided to make more room in the library which was running out of space. With other DJs helping all doubles and triple copies were taken off the shelves and shared amongst the DJs. It was years later when back living in the UK that Tony spotted the ‘A’ copy of the first UK release and swiftly framed it, placing it in pride of place, on the wall of his company DMC/Mixmag. To provide provenance Tony asked Paul McCartney to both sign the record and send him a faxed message confirming what had been mentioned in legendary Beatles stories that, “We first heard our single ‘Love me do’ whilst listening to Radio Luxembourg." That would have been as big a thrill for the Beatles than anyone and in no short measure this is a record that changed the world. Tony has been an avid collector of music related memorabilia most of his life. The personal items coming to the Omega Sale are quite extraordinary and the question has to be asked of Tony, “Why now”? “There are various reasons”, he explains. “Firstly we need to move out of our present home and the content of the garage and it’s welfare and transference to a new home are not something I could endure. I’m sure all record collectors will appreciate the task of moving a 100,000+ collection of albums, 45’s and precious memorabilia, is a job only they can do. I’ve had to move it five times, each time requiring a larger space, bigger shelves. The other reason is I need funds to keep our new and exciting radio project going as streaming takes over from FM. United DJ Radio (uniteddj.com) is as exciting to myself and our 32 legendary DJs as the golden days of pirate radio in the 60’s were”. QUICK CHI-TOWN INSTRUMENTAL WITH SOME CUTS

Here’s a quick instrumental with some cuts sent to us by Meowerz from Hands of Time Hip Hop Chicago. Just playing around with a beat he found on one of DJ Odilon’s Loopers that he added some cuts and effects to for fun so I could freestyle over it. Just a fun way to organically explore ideas through the universal language of Hip Hop, even though we are on opposite sides of the globe.

С Mowerz мы дружим давно и он иногда подогревает своими домашними заготовками без претензий на экспорт. В этот раз он дропнул такой вот микстейп состоящий из бита DJ Odillion на который он наложил скретчи. Скорей даже это не бит, а так называемые loopers. Диджеи знают эту вещь и понимают о чем идет речь. Вторая часть этого микстейпа - это акапелла рэпера  из Филадельфии Walt Sicknin, который кстати улицы говорят умер недавно. Мир ему и Царство небесное. Так что пусть это будет музыкальное ему посвящение.

Картинка луперсов DJ Odilion кстати попахивает мракобесием, но зато там 100 битов и мы её преобразовали в свет с помощью нашего радиоэфира и нового хита MixMastaFreak. Так что вот такой даркнет Хип-Хоп что ли... Оставайтесь на позитиве с фрик@радиво!!!

[Background: The Greek rapper Pavlos Fyssas, also known as Killah P, a very active member of Greece’s underground hip hop scene and vocal anti-fascist, was murdered by the Greek neo-nazi party “Golden Dawn” on the 18th of September 2013. His murder sparked a wave of anti-fascist protests across Greece and was fundamental in the arrests of many leading Golden Dawn figures. They are currently undergoing trial for a variety of crimes, including that of founding and running a criminal organisation. Over the years Golden Dawn has coordinated and carried out assaults on migrants, trade union members, and others who they deem as threats. With this declaration signed by more than 300 names, the Greek hip hop community once again takes a stand against Golden Dawn, and comments on recent troubling events regarding their trial. We translated this document in the spirit of solidarity to spread the word around the world, so as many people as possible unite to defeat fascism everywhere. In September of 2013 Pavlos Fyssas (also known by his stage name, ‘Killah P’) was murdered by Golden Dawn, a Greek neo-Nazi organisation. Six years later, he is murdered once again. This time the blow comes from the Greek courts and the political system. Upon hearing the proposal tabled by Adamantia Oikonomou, the prosecutor in Golden Dawn’s trial, Pavlos’ mother screams that “on the 18th of the month, Pavlos will have been dead for 75 months. Today you stabbed him again, his wound is bleeding”.  

Oikonomou’s proposal fully acquits the leadership and cadres of the organisation for the murder of Pavlos-Killah P. It absolves them of any accusation of forming a criminal organisation, places the responsibility for the murder exclusively on Giorgos Roupakias (the Golden Dawn member who stabbed Pavlos- Killah P), and audaciously proclaims that the assault was a ‘chance encounter’. At the same time, it acquits Roupakias’ 17 accomplices, members of the Nikaia stormtrooper cell, who supposedly knew nothing of Roupakias’ movements.

Adamantia Oikonomou has a history. She is the same prosecutor who, a few years ago, insisted that the innocent Tasos Theofilou be condemned. Now she is aligning herself with the arguments of Golden Dawn’s defense. She shamelessly ignores the evidence and testimonies concerning the storm-troopers and the leadership’s coordination of all the murderous attacks until today. From the trial’s early days, she didn’t hesitate to side with Pavlos’ murderers, functioning almost as their defense.

It is clear for us that political forces are directly implicated in influencing the judicial system and its decisions. The deep state, which has been whitewashing Golden Dawn’s criminal activities for years, is now planning its complete restoration and re-emergence in the streets and parliament. Golden Dawn is a product of this political system; it serves a specific purpose and it will not be defeated as easily as some believed.

This is the reason that they are attempting to proceed with the trial in such a manner. It constitutes one part of a much bigger puzzle, one that entails a full-scale attack on our rights and freedoms, a wider turn towards fascism in our society. They dream of a Greece in which ‘normality’ reigns, one of silent resignation where any voice daring to dissent is immediately beaten down.

However, they didn’t predict our presence. They think that their plans will easily succeed, but they are deeply deluded. They will find us in front of them! If the court’s decision acquits Golden Dawn, it means that the neo-Nazis’ hands will be immediately re-armed. We will not let that happen. We will forcefully assemble a united presence in the courts until the day of the decision. The judges have to listen to the demands of justice and condemn the accused members of Golden Dawn with the maximum available sentences.

All of us, who for years unite in concerts, who sing and fight for a better tomorrow, all of us who still get chills up our spines with this music, are placing a bet and giving a promise. We will fight this battle at any cost, however and wherever is necessary, until Pavlos, Shahzad Luqman, and all the other victims of fascism are vindicated. We take a stand against state and paramilitary repression. Our anger rages. Their terrorism won’t scare us. All of us who signed this document live through hip hop. Through this music that is birthed by reality and bluntly talks about it. Through this music that sees the police as a gang, the judicial system as a finely-tuned theatre of shadows and the fascists as servants of the system. Pavlos- Killah P, our brother, also lived through this music. Now he lives in our hearts and he will forever remind us that nothing is over. That all of us, the sons and daughters of Magda, Pavlos’ mother, will stand united against injustice, against the system that drowns our lives, and against the fascist monster.

Those who killed our brother will never again be able to breathe in our streets, our squares, our neighbourhoods!

We will stand united in the courts on the day of the decision.

For justice, for freedom, for Pavlos!
